There are some MOT Centres that are not council run but just do MOTs due to being next to small garages who just fix cars. I got one recommended by a family friend as there wasn't one in my borough.

Likewise I found some of the local independent garages don't change tyres because there is an independent tyre place round the corner they send all their customers to.

Bit of a hassle if your car fails it's MOT first time and needs a few things fixed plus a new tyre or two.

I never get ripped off, maybe you lot just look a bit gullible?

If there is a failure don't take their word for it, get the technician to show you the problem and get another opinion/quote if it seems expensive.

I've used KwikFit several times without issue.

I found a little local man who was happy to find some small job like headlights needed adjusting.

I didn't feel ripped off at all once I'd heard the stories others had to tell.

Apple Car Centre (Large rip-off chain) once charged me £450 for a lambda sensor on a small fiat when going for an MOT once upon a time when I knew less than I do now. Bastids.

    Best place for MOT...??

Which is the best place for MOT, looking for some one who genuinely checks road worthiness of my car, not trying to sell all components they got in stock...!!

    Options I have are..

    1. Half**ds Auto Center - £27
    2. Kwick-Fit - £35
    3. National - £35
    4. Mr. Clutch - £26
    5. Locals - ?

Any good/bad experience with these bunch..??
