They did in the 1990s when Stuttgart broke the rules in injury time of their European Cup win over Leeds.Originally posted by Arturo Bassick View PostShame there is no time (or possibility) to play the games again with the correct players in place.
The tie was replayed, Leeds won it, but then lost to Rangers in the next round I think.

No the other chap they should have used could have scored the same 2 goals.Originally posted by shaunbhoy View PostMany people are saying that. However, one of the players that should not have been playing scored 2 goals for them in the second leg. Without those goals we would have beaten them.
I do take your point though. It is fair to assume he was batter than who ever he replaced.
Shame there is no time (or possibility) to play the games again with the correct players in place.
The correct thing to do is eject Sion and let Celtic through.

Good luck to Celtic.
I do think it is a bit sad (even if it is correct) to use the rule book to get past a team you could not beat.

Would Celtic have any real expectations if they couldn't beat Sion though?

Not that you're bitter and twisted, eh?Originally posted by shaunbhoy View PostTM, we may have had to get used to cheating within the confines of the SPL, but at least in Europe there is a higher authority that does not make moral decisions based solely on goat preferences.

Btw, for the uninitiated it's GAOTU
