I have this theory that you could make one out of river reeds and sail from Egypt to South America

You can make them from wire mesh and concrete (as the do in Greece or you can use papier-mâché and paint it in gloss paint.

Then he wouldn't have got in the paper.

My father built several wooden sailing boats when he was younger, I still have some of his books on the subject. It's not as hard as you think.
