A lot of contractors I know just p*ss their money away on gadgets and fast cars.

the most frightening, in our early thirties we have another 30 years of it before we can retire !, in my case more working years left before retirement than I have already lived - what a thought !

I haven't got that far yet :rolleyes But I agree with you...however, contracting on it's own it's really enough. It's still a relatively small income.

well, it the responsibility of all of us to ourselves and our families to try and find a way out this pikey scum world and into a world of financial security where you have a choice how to use your time, whether it is driving a bus or relaxing on your terrace.

We are the lucky ones, if used wisely our contracting gains can be a foundation of a way out

Yes, I would agree with that. Unfortunately there are very few professions that provide the latter. Best selling writers and musicians being two such examples.
