Is it as adult as Game of Thrones (a suprising level of graphical violence and full nudity/simulated sex for a TV show, it's great!), or closer to BBC's Merlin (i.e. kids TV)?

Excalibur will remain my favourite interpretation regardless, but if Camelot is closer to the former I may give it a watch.

Closer to the former, but with less graphical violence, but definitely not meant to be a kiddie show

I just watched it. I think it was girl friendly. My boyfriend just went to bed as he seemed bored; I stayed up to watch the fairly hot men (and the story was great of course .) I know nothing about the arthurian legends, so it's also inspired me to do a bit of research to see what is/isn't true.

So you never know, your gf may like it.

Haven't seen it (and I thought this thread was about the National Lottery), but I saw an interesting documentary the other month which presented a very plausible theory that King Arthur's "round table" was a round amphitheatre in the ex-Roman legionary fortress at Chester .

Also, a few years ago archaeologists digging at Tintagel, on the North Coast of Cornwall, dug up a large stone inscribed "This drain cover was installed by order of King Artognos" (quoting from memory). Not exactly the Holy Grail, but to my mind it does prove he existed in the 400s, fighting off the first Saxon invaders.
