Also, I think in other countries like Germany etc you could just but tickets online straight away for any event. No lottery methods.
Half and half split (roughly) between available to public and not.

German Olympic committee can sell their allocation however they like. The yanks did a lottery.

A mate of mine applied for £12K worth of tickets and got none.

So far I only know one person who got any and they are for the opening ceremony.

    Where is it? Greenwich?

Can't please everybody all the time...
Greenwich - capacity 50,000. LOCOG could have got another £10 million + by having it somewhere else.

A picnic in Richmond sounds good

We applied for about £600 worth. Swimming, track, tennis and gymnastics if memory serves.

£106 went out of the account, no idea what for as yet.

As I read earlier 'Boris' Johnson didn't get any. But then neither did Chris Broad, and neither did UK sportsmen competing at the games get any.

What seems a little odd is that these people are participating but yet their family cannot get tickets to see them! FFS! That's ******* outrageous.

Tickets should have been put on auction with minimum price and top X highest bidders get tickets at the lowest price in the bid.
