Half and half split (roughly) between available to public and not.Originally posted by fullyautomatix View PostWas it not reported that the majority of tickets were gieven away to VIP's, sponsors etc ?
Also, I think in other countries like Germany etc you could just but tickets online straight away for any event. No lottery methods.
German Olympic committee can sell their allocation however they like. The yanks did a lottery.Last edited by Moscow Mule; 4 June 2011, 21:42.

Wow, I seem to have done really well. I'm not a sports fan so just applied for two events: one popular sport, one weird sport. Got the weird sport.

A mate of mine applied for £12K worth of tickets and got none.Originally posted by k2p2 View PostBlimey - good to hear people have got stuff. Hubby applied for nearly £6K (including a few he didn't expect to get - opening/closing/100m final, but lots of smaller events too) but didn't get any. I applied for a couple of the heats, nothing either. Very disappointed.
So far I only know one person who got any and they are for the opening ceremony.

Greenwich - capacity 50,000. LOCOG could have got another £10 million + by having it somewhere else.Originally posted by Moscow Mule View PostThere is a loop around box hill, which I quite fancy going to watch. It also goes near our house when it leaves Richmond.
Where is it? Greenwich?
Can't please everybody all the time...
A picnic in Richmond sounds good

We applied for about £600 worth. Swimming, track, tennis and gymnastics if memory serves.
£106 went out of the account, no idea what for as yet.

As I read earlier 'Boris' Johnson didn't get any. But then neither did Chris Broad, and neither did UK sportsmen competing at the games get any.
What seems a little odd is that these people are participating but yet their family cannot get tickets to see them! FFS! That's ******* outrageous.

Tickets should have been put on auction with minimum price and top X highest bidders get tickets at the lowest price in the bid.

Where is it? Greenwich?Originally posted by Zippy View PostYep. They cost £55 which is how I know we didn't get 'em. They really missed a trick there as over 100,000 turn up to Badminton horse trials every year and they could have sold at least three times as many. Well done to the dimwits at LOCOG.

Ooh fingers crossed for the closing ceremony. And at least we got something eh?Originally posted by Scrag Meister View PostThe wife applied for £400 worth of various events, and we had £66 taken from the bank account yesterday.
Initial estimates are Tennis, first couple of rounds, or closing ceremony.
Anyone planning on going to the Paralympic games?
