Have you considered building something like a boat or perhaps a small supercomputer?

Try taking up a musical instrument and join a band full of other 40 year olds who are trying to recapture their youth?

I've been looking into moving somewhere 'exotic', but am having a hard time convincing Mrs LS to do the same. She's very risk averse, and likes the safety and security of predictability and familiarity. Having no children helps from both a financial and mobility perspective though.
Locations we've considered include Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Ecuador, Panama, Argentina. Still a work in progress.....

Learn to fly, buy a wee plane. Doesn't require any strenuous exercise, cheaper to run than a boat, visit lots more exciting places than ports full of the yellow welly brigade.
You could go to Florida and get your license in a couple of weeks but spend some time with an instructor back in blighty to get used to the local area and weather.
