The Satanic Verses is a wonderful book at every level, I was reluctant to read it at first as I thought it was purely Theological, which it certainly is not.

In the Satanic Verses there was a sub plot to create a movie about the life of Mohamed, as the Prophet could not be represented by another person the Director decided to have a Camel instead of a person and the Camel would be shown mouthing the lines of the Koran ...
