    Never thought I'd see the day.

    So vodafone have just introduced a new policy in the last 4 weeks to offer the unlocking of your phone. They'll contact apple on your behalf and request it is unlocked. Of course I had to move to another country to get permission.. but worth a try and lie if you're in the UK.
