    Indeed.

I'm going to vote for UKIP or some right wing independent next time. Not that it makes any difference.

What do you mean by "honest"? Work permit requirements involve certain obligations like stating work permit holder will be paid salary of £Xk per year.

Big company with lots of assets that does not hold up to this promise can be pursued for damages and lose their place on fast track permit, so that's reasonly to allow them bring people over. As I said - the issue is not fast track, but the fact that those companies are allowed to bring in people who will be paid ridiculously low amount. Back in my time when I got work permit (2000) the rule more or less was being paid around £35k which used to be decent money at the time.

Now the real wrong thing is not this but allegedly lowing salary threshold to those who stay under 12 months to like £20k - that's IS a joke.

Migrant worker visas could be 'fast-tracked' for good employers - Telegraph

The Home Office is considering allowing employers who have a strong track record of compliance with immigration law to skip a series of bureaucratic hoops when hiring migrant workers.

At present, employers wishing to hire foreign workers from outside the EU have to deliver reams of paperwork to the authorities detailing the individual's right to work in the UK, such as proof of their degree.

The rules are part of a strict points-based immigration system, whereby employers have to sponsor each migrant worker they take on.

The Government confirmed it was considering relaxing the rules for trusted employers*, but refused to go into further detail ahead of the Budget.
