The twist was a bit predictable, but I've found a site with such a good explanation of the film that I'm tempted to watch it again. As the explanation points out, once you know the twist, you see everything that happened before in a different light. Apparently there are a huge number of small details in the behaviour of various characters (who are in on the secret) that you don't register the first time around. Also, I didn't realise that he was sane, at the end.

Good film.
I thought it was like a cross between The Beach and Inception.
Decaprio was in them too.

Yeah, I found it a bit predictable also. The ending was visible a mile off.

It is a very good movie but when something is nearly perfect you pick out the things you know that made it just off perfect and amplify them. Probably the best film I have seen this year I will have to say and I want to watch it again.
I was told in school never to end the story in "and then he woke up". I just do not want to watch 80 minutes of a story and be told it was all a dream. As I say the cinematography was superb. Worth watching the film for that alone.

Must say I enjoyed it and had no inkling of the main plot twist before it happened - I was barking well up the wrong tree.

Shutter Island, expect **spoliers**
Watched it last night, truly amazing cinematography but a weak story and a slightly predictable outcome. DiCaprio is a great actor I have to say.
I see it gets 8.0 on IMDB. Not convinced by that. Scorsese does not do a bad film but I rarely see him do a great film.Tags: None
