ahh expat, you petrol heads
a diesel engine has a much higher compression ration than
a petrol, and when driving a diesel, if you take your foot
of the accelorator, the engine's compression will have a greater
more useable effect of slowing the car than a petrol and also
reduces the need to use the breaks so heavily in certain circumstances
i could go on, but that's enough info
anyway I thought you had an old Pajero, I guess it's a petrol
Milan.

Morning (yawns!)
Got some paperwork to do. Actually, it should be called bit-work now, shouldn't it?
Anyone else watching the cricket?

diesel engine to assist with braking? How does it do that? I't have thought the extra weight would assist in retaining the original velocity in spite of attempts to alter it.

everything is well thanks, although the north has been snowbound for over a week now. the usual, trains stuck in the middle of nowhere, cars stuck for days in drifts... but here near sunny glasgow by the sea spring is underway. off climbing tomorrow though, a return to the icy heights and winter.
