Or dead in a remote jungle somewhere......flesh stripped from the bone by insects........had he been as panic-stricken as you would profess to be under similar circumstances, and bolted headlong into the forbidding forest.

"Leftist rebels in Colombia freed on Wednesday the first of five hostages whose release has been promised, the International Committee of the Red Cross said.

Marcos Baquero, 33, a local politician kidnapped in June 2009, was turned over to a humanitarian mission in central Meta province and was being flown to Villavicencio in a helicopter with Red Cross markings, a Red Cross spokeswoman said."
