some bookies can be rally naive(thanks fleety)
A few years ago I made quite a lot from betting on there being a hole in one at specified Major golf events. I generally got between 10 and 15 to 1. Considering that there generally is a hole in 1.

One should always ask the workers when they think a project will be finished. Never believe any timescales given by a subcontractors management.

Builders In Betting Scam
Building workers at the new Wembley Stadium have creamed off thousands of pounds in winnings - by betting the complex would not be finished in time.
Ireland's biggest bookmaker, Paddy Power, has been caught for £10,000 in two days by workers who said the stadium would not meet its March 31 deadline.
According to The Sun newspaper the bookie has suspended betting on the completion date after it suspected it had been duped.
Bosses acted after they realized that not a single person had bet on the stadium being ready at branches of the bookmaker in the area around the complex.
More than 60 construction workers are alleged to have placed bets against the date, according to the paper.
The book was opened when Australia's Multiplex, responsible for construction, said there was only a 70% chance of Wembley being ready for the FA Cup Final in May.
''We couldn't believe our luck. We got jammed in the doors in the rush to place bets,'' said one onsite electrician.
A spokesman for Paddy Power said: ''We've been caught with our pants down.
''We should have reacted quicker when we saw men in hard hats placing bets in the Wembley area.''
You really couldn't make it up
