I'm putting a new computer together for him , so that is his main present. We are just looking for bits. He's into going to concerts but there isn't much touring at the moment that he likes (rock music). We thought about united tickets, but i'm not joining the membership scheme just to get a couple of tickets

Well, "blind people" is quite a wide brief.
The subscription to Flying Magazine is a genius bit of double-inappropriateness.

Do you expect a musical person not to have a Keyboard or a Guitar?Originally posted by SupremeSpod View PostIs he musical?
Get him a keyboard or a guitar.
A challenge I know.

Already done that. He has a guitar but wasn't into it. He's learning the drums at his school and we thought about getting him a drum kit. But he is away for most of the year at school in Worcester so they would have to either be kept at his school or at home (i'm not moving them every holidays and home weekend)
If they were at home he'd hardly get to use them. If they were in the house at school then I'd imagine he'd soon annoy the other house members as even the eltronic ones make a noise as you hit them. Plus they have kits at the school that he can use

Guy at school wrote some software for the blind on the BBC(supposed to be sound based)
Screen popped up and it said 'Press Enter' to continue.
How we laughed and took the piss!
CEO of his own worldwide software company(based in LA), employing 500 people and was named a business man of the year by Ernst Young a few years back. So WTF do I know.

Why do blind people have to have a white stick? Why can't it be colourful and full of flashing colours?
