Er, no. World market doesn't equate to unfettered movement of people.

Labour hate contractors. Always have, and always will.

Tories may treat us badly, but they don't despise us.

The only good thing about New Labour was their profligate public sector IT spending, of which I am pleased to say I grabbed a decent slice of.

    WHS

There is quite a bit I don't like about the current lot, but they will always look good against the previous lot who, in 13 years, only got about 5% of what they did right, and led us down a shytehole.

Sod it, now I'm trying to think of what the 5% might include. Probably the smoking bans in public buildings. And the minimum wage. And prevaricating about joining the Euro when they realised they would lose the referendum on it.

True, and there's another dimension - British politicians, especially Tories, are obsessed with the idea of copying the Yanks.[*]

I believe the US has admitted tens of thousands of Bobs (President Obama was in India, on some trade deal, only last week).

In short, if the Septics decide to jump off a cliff, it's imperative that the UK has to jump too.

[*] Maybe it's a pitiful attempt at flattery, although I'd have thought it was seen in the US as rather contemptible.

Now the Tories will "stabilise" the economy - that's code for "only the rich can get richer", since there are no artificial booms by which the smart can make money fast.
But what of simpletons like you, whose loftiest aspiration was to own a garden shed? Is this new Utopia likely to cater for you?
