Thanks one and all. I'm very much of the old school and think the father's place is pacing back and forth in the waiting room until the good news comes in and then it's time to pass around the cigars and go to the pub for a pint. Unfortunately Mrs Lucifer is having none of that.

I wish she'd get a move on. This "not having a drink in the evening in case I have to take her to hospital" lark is doing my head in.
Well, good luck sir! Try some of the N2O while you're there at the delivery room.
I was due a nice, quiet night to myself, with a good unplanned game of UT2k4, curry and a bottle of Green Point. Sadly wifey has cancelled her night due to unforseen circumstance and decided to spend a "quiet night in" with me. Curses... perhaps if I ply her with some stronge sleeping brew she may nod off earlier, freeing up the potential for some chain gun carnage later on.

If you're gonna quote then at least do the author the courtesy of mentioning his name - John Simon in this case.

Jeez, that's a nasty looking alien specimen, LB!
The last time I saw something like was in the "Janes Encyclopedia of Pubic Lice" the doc was showing me, after a rather nasty episode of drunkenly shafting the local slapper.
Hey - no "spawn of the devil" yet?
