Person who only knows what she doesn't want

Here I am, helping the app trainer teach the future users; she asks a question which I then try to answer by showing her on the screen. She then says 'no that's not what I want' and launches into a long explanation of what she doesn't want and why she doesn't want it.

After 5 minutes of listening;

OK, so what do you want?

She then says she wants to see 'that checklist thingy'.

Which checklist thingy? Here's a list; which one do you want to see?

I don't know which one; thingy, you know, that one from last month; thingy!

Glad I don't deal with users every day.
