I worked with someone once who had a complex about people called "Mike Smith". He was certain they were all useless.
He asked me if I'd changed my name by deed poll.

Putting through a change request at current Client Co, to install a particular application on 15 servers.

Gotta get approval from 4 parties, all going swimmingly until one of them is on leave, so I check and find out that Joe Bloggs is covered by Mike Smith in his absence.

So I email Mike Smith and tell him I need approval on request 123456, he asks me to ring him to explain as he isn't familiar with the approval process, so I ring him and explain that we have a important project that needs this doing and can he send his approval while Joe Bloggs is away. "Sure no problem" email returned with approval. Approval sent to Change team and request is updated.

Things swing into action... software starts to be installed ...... then one of the people in the team I work in, points out that the approval is from Mike Smith who is covering for a totally different Joe Bloggs!!!!!

He has absolutely zilch, nada, nothing to do with our project at all, Mike Smith has even less to do with it cos at least Joe Bloggs had the right name, but hey I got the approval and the job was done.

I did get the approval in an email from the right Joe Bloggs too.

Results driven, don't care where the approval comes from.
