My train journey passed without incident this morning. As usual. And we don't have any riff-raff standing in the aisles either.

So didn't anyone else get caught up in this?

SASGuru - for your information, I AM NOT SPAMMING THE FORUM I was merely making a purely altruistic gesture for the benefit of any other CUKers who may have had planned to include that part of the rail network in their travel itineries this morning.

    Chaos

Derailed EWS Bogie Monster Box at Chipping Sodbury brings chaos to the Western Region this morning and results in my being 45 minutes late into Swindon. A brief summary of this morning's chaos:
    • Buses laid on between Bristol Parkway and Swindon
    • Platforms overflowing with disgruntled passengers at Bristol Parkway and reports of scuffles breaking out between commuters and station staff
    • 2 trains running at standing room only capacity left stationary for over 1 hour before passengers are detrained onto relief trains deployed from the other direction

So far as I understand, no disruption has been brought to services travelling in a westerly direction from London to Bristol and an FGW representative confirmed to me that compensation of £10 will be available to season ticket holders IF THE DELAY TO THEIR JOURNEY EXCEEDS ONE HOUR.
