Which is why I really should turn up to a CUK evening.
We don't like crowds either - A dozen of us sit round a table texting each other.

So come to the next one. It'll be fun.

P.S. Don't forget to bring your mobby.

who's planning on going to Glasto 2011?

p.s ticket day is Sunday October 3rd 9am

    Glastonbury - eh ??

Let me see - first went around 76 , purple pyramid acid and was at Stonehenge - or was it a Friday - Ive been serveral times over the years - but never ever paid to get in.

No I didnt jump the fence - an old mate has been a festival trader since yonks .... so some times I would help him run the stall during the festival mayhem - still I thought Glastonbury was better in the 80s but nostalgia aint what it was.

Anway yes its been a while so I think I shall revert to my old role as festival hand for Glastonbry - CHEF good to see some enthusiasm in this weary world .... enjoy and maybe you can see me in action at the Stall .

PS 5 per cent discount to all CUKers

    hmmm...
The thought of the vagaries of the British weather, sleeping under canvas for a slim chance of watching some small dots in the distance jig about on the stage, and paying a wad of wonga for the privilege of doing so

    versus

Sitting in my living room with a bottle of wine & watching HD coverage on my 50" TV

Would be interested whether any parents are thinking about going. I know there's loads to do for the kids, but can the adults really have a worthwhile (I know it will be good, but would it be good enough) time when you can't get mashed off your face?

I've been to Glasto 5 times, the last time was 2008.

I've always enjoyed it, and I only didn't go this year because a friend got married that weekend, but I'm coming to the conclusion that its a bit of a rip off.

I went to a couple of smaller festivals this year, and actually had more fun.

The thing about Glasto is your ticket price is paying for the huge number of venues and artists, but its so big you can only ever see a small fraction of what's there.

i did go once - 1985 - it rained forever and we spent most of the time in our tent, listening to the music and staying very stoned. there was a historic amount of mud, the toilets were truly grimsters and i recall a woman hitching up her skirt and urinating copiously right in front of me as the early morning mist swirled around.... i've been longing to go back ever since.
I was there in '85 too
By all accounts I had a really good time

We went to latitude this year and we'll be going next year too. Mr P really doesn't fancy Glastonbury. Latitude is very good if you have kids - for a start they don't charge for under 12's.

Kids under 12 are free, I'm sure it used to be 16?

Umm I know this year's event is over, I was there. What I was posting about is the ticket sale for next year's tickets (i.e Glastonbury 2011) will happen on Sunday October 3rd 2010, this year.. i.e 8 months in advance of the festival, i.e in just over 3 weeks time.

If you've never been and like the idea I'm sure you'll love it.

£50 ticket deposit payable on Oct 3rd, then the booking site re-opens on April 1st 2011, when you will have a week to pay your balance of £145 per ticket, if you don't pay the balance then £40 of your £50 deposit is refunded and you're ticket is put up for resale.

ALL ticket holder wannabe's have to be registered before ticket sale day, register here, be aware that it can take 2-3 days for registration to be processed.

    Glastonbury Website

    Full Ticket Details

Any questions send me a PM or just ask here.

U2 are almost certainly going to be headlining the Friday after they pulled out last year because of Bono's back, all line-up rumours are added here, it's unlikely that anyone will be confirmed officially until after tickets have sold out.
