    Which red variety?

I've found the tastiest tomatoes come from sunnier climes, particularly some of the Italian "plum" varieties when properly ripened on the vine are something else. We get baby plum ones in the supermarket here that are great cut in half in a greek style salad.

The little yellow ones can be very nice as well.

Stop watering them and the fruits will ripen out of shock.

•Wrapping individual green tomatoes in newspaper and layering in a box, no more than 2 layers deep. Place the box in a dark, dry spot and check weekly for progress. It usually takes 3-4 weeks for the green tomatoes to ripen, but check frequently and remove any fruits that show signs of rotting.

WHS if they're in pots move then so they can get more sun, just be careful the soil in the pots doesn't dry up.

My grandad used to take them off the plant once they reached a good size, bring them indoors and put them on the windowledge to ripen/turn red.

    Growing tomatoes

I have about a dozen tomato plants all bearing a healthy bounty of tomatoes.

Only one problem, they are all green and failing to turn red.

    What am I doing wrong?
