As for the names already mentioned, would have to agree with a lot of the Carry On actors as well as Dave Allen.

Douglas Adams, funny and compassionate guy.
Colin McRae, more tragic as his son and friend were also killed IIRC.
I would add Kurt Cobain but he wanted to die so it doesn't really count. Odd fellow, he used to drive a Volvo because they're safe yet he spent half his life injecting smack.
