More RAF jets set for Afghanistan

"Armchair General" drivel. It's not just a question of 'sending more' planes. You have to have the personnel to fly, navigate, service and maintain them. You'll need sufficient fuel to fly them, and stocks of armaments to make flying them worth while, as well as appropriate levels of stock of essential spares. They'll also need hangar space/dispersal areas to protect them from drive-by AK47 fire and/or RPGs. All this coupled with the fact that in what is, essentially, a guerrilla war, airpower is of limited strategic use. On the face of it an additional 2 aircraft sounds about right.
