    A bit of a non story. It is for norm for lenders not to lend for properties above take-away businesses. It only changed in the frenzy to lend to anyone for any property some years ago. When I got my first mortgage it was impossible to borrow money for any such properties included any converted flat (ie not purpose built) any property on a lease less than 50 years etc etc.

    I hear they'd soon require 110% deposit on such properties before lending money.

    Meanwhile I am planning to rent new place by the end of the month - one option is to get flat over trendy pizza shop - free delivery of pizzas guaranteed
