No worries. Spelt the chap's name wrong though - It's Christopher Stoakes. My copy is only 250 ish pages. There's a second edition which covers why the crunch happened which will be the one to get.

The only other question is whether it's better to get the second/third editions of the books? (I guess they're post-crash updates)?Last edited by xchaotic; 12 July 2010, 13:59.

The Complete Guide to Capital Markets for Quantitative Professionals
This might be a bit heavy going:
Options, Futures, and Other Derivatives : John C. Hull
This one is more of a laymans (Lehmans?) guide.

Start with
All you need to know about the City - Stokes.
Then, you'll probably want to have a look at derivatives
All About Derivatives - Durbin
No idea about ebook options but you should be able to work that bit out yourself.

Good books introducing finance?

Having acquired a bit of spare time, I'm think of getting some better understanding on how the finance instruments and markets work.
Any good and up to date reading on this, preferably in a book form that can be read on an ipad/kindle?Tags: None
