A Spitfire buzzed my house 2 hours before the England v Germany game, sadly it was the only thing that made me feel proud that day.
Forget your jets, nothing beats a 12 cylinder Merlin.

Did you know, you can book the Red Arrows to flypast your event for free? (Excepting weddings and funerals).
That'll be it.

I knew that bit, I was just taking the piss.Originally posted by Gibbon View PostNo,
The correct version is any event that the general public can attend, no private events.
Also it only happens if its on or near the flightpath for that particular day.

I used to hear the sonic boom from Concorde as she headed out over the Bristol channel and (for the want of a better phrase) gave it some welly!, happy days.
I miss the fog horn on Flat Holme too.

MachOriginally posted by original PM View Postwiki indicates that although if you stand in one place you hear a boom as the plane flies past this boom is actually continous and so it happens whenever a plane is going above MAC 1 (not just when it goes through MAC 1).
Which would indicate it would create a boom each time it goes above MAC 1
