A Spitfire buzzed my house 2 hours before the England v Germany game, sadly it was the only thing that made me feel proud that day.

Forget your jets, nothing beats a 12 cylinder Merlin.

No,

The correct version is any event that the general public can attend, no private events.

Also it only happens if its on or near the flightpath for that particular day.

I used to hear the sonic boom from Concorde as she headed out over the Bristol channel and (for the want of a better phrase) gave it some welly!, happy days.

I miss the fog horn on Flat Holme too.
