She should have been prosecuted for being an idiot for implying that providing handouts to ethnic minorities is an acceptable use of public money.
Personally, I never knew 'coconut' was categorised as a racial slur.
I'm presuming the word 'honky' also falls into this category - used to make me laugh when you used to see it used in late 70's/early 80's TV & movies like Starsky & Hutch or Magnum Force.

Ahh, right.Originally posted by SupremeSpod View PostI heard this on the News yesterday.
I didn't know that it was an offensive term until it was explained.
Btw, does this make Obama a coconut? Black(which is debatable) on the outside but white on the inside?
Never knew that.
I called Garth Crooks a cream egg the other day, I just though his head was the same shape as a cream egg now that he has put on about 10 stone.

If any of you call me a white chocolate coffee cream I'm reporting you.....Originally posted by doodab View PostI can't help thinking this would make it illegal to call someone a Tunnock's Tea Cake.
But in todays world I'd be in trouble for being offended by being likened to a black man......

By going to court and making case law.Originally posted by Gibbon View PostAgreed in principle but how do you decide how to legislate it.
Section 5 of the Public Order Act is a pretty handy catch-all for the Police and CPS.
Edit: Except Magistrates don't set precedent so unless an appeal to a higher court is rejected you can still call somebody a coconut and duke it out in court.

That's just it, you can't and imo a third party shouldn't.Originally posted by Gibbon View PostAgreed in principle but how do you decide how to legislate it.
I say go outside and duke it out.
Simples.
