I have never seen a useful HR department in all my working life. I can’t figure out what they’re for.
Likewise; ‘internal communications’ departments, ‘test expertise centres (usually staffed by people who can’t set up a times tables test, never mind a software test), and ‘lean six sigma blackbelts’, who are usually about 5’6”, overweight and full of tulip.Last edited by Mich the Tester; 14 May 2010, 13:15.

what is it with HR???
Get an interview with the beeb on tuesday, tell HR I am a student and need to have Mondays off. HR woman goes into great detail and asks questions, I think she is clear I need Monday's off. She comes back with details of interview, I say 'they know I need Mondays off?' HR woman says I don't know. Anyway after faffing around and about 25 emails later, the answer is no, I can't have Mondays off. HR woman says 'do you still want to go through with the interview'
