GF demanded to go back to Platinum after half a day in MBK buying nothing because remembered seeing cheaper in Platinum

    Oooo get you two!

I'm working when I go there, so I keep costs down(though I always fly business class)

Bangkok I take taxis or the skytrain.

Elsewhere I hire a motor bike. Never had the balls to do that in Bangkok!!

If you want a taxi to take you somewhere and actually put the meter on,walk up the road and hail one. They will take you somewhere. But you'll need to speak some Thai as they wont speak English (the ones outside your hotel trying to rip you off - will!)

Just come back from there and the only real annoyances was taxi's refuse to go any where near them (which is annoying as they placed themselves at a major hub in the city so longer taxi trips, but as taxi's so cheap is just lost time) and few of the shopping malls are closed

BK is such a huge city it will have little impact on tourists beyond that and reduced hotel bills (which we need due to pound being so bloody weak)
