No - unlike Albion Wigan actually managed to get from gutters and stay pretty high in Premiership playing with cheap team - they have feck all money to buy players, YET, they managed to play very well against overpriced players that are so typical to Premiership. This means that the manager is good - he shown sustained results over more games than Sven managed so far.

You seem to have run out of arguements - I stated my opinion that the manager of Wigan is better than Sven because Wigan actual shown what can be down with bugger all money in a very competitive tournament. I doubt Wigan's manager would decline offer to lead national team - and if Beckham won't like it then its his problem.

Proven ability? Not to kick England, but when was the last time current players won World Cup or something like this? Its not like Sven did not have a chance - its not like all games that the team played were flawless and they only lost once - in the Final, so it would have made sense give him another chance.

AFAIK players who play for England don't get paid ridiculous wages they pull in their clubs - the issue of pay is simply not there, AFAIK national team manager can pick any qualifying player disregarding issue of their cost.

I am pretty sure that any non-spoilt player wants to play for England in the World Cup, and while tw@ts like Beckham, Ferdinand should be dropped, good guys like Owen will stay and play - good for them and good for those others who would take up on honour to play in high level competition, I doubt there will be shortage of players willing to play.
