    Another thing CUK Euro sceptics haven't factored into their doom and gloom world view is that Gordon didn't take us into the Euro. If the Euro were so bad, surely he would have taken us in years ago, at about the same time he sold our gold.

    Just to take a contra view....

    The EUR has now been reduced to a more competitive rate to the US Dollar making exports to the US far more competitive. The increase in the value of the GBP means that UK exports to Europe become less competitive too.

    Greece is a small part of the Eurozone so can be made to suffer without damaging the zone as a whole. It does however put the fear of God into other miscreant states making them more inclined to follow more fiscally responsible policies.
