Question for Threaded

The last time I saw policemen taking photos in person from Autobahn bridges was on the 1st of May a few years ago. They did have a clampdown on demonstrators that year, so I assumed it was part of the same operation.

It's on Saturday this year so I expect the demonstrating types will be out in force.

I noticed it too, but don't rightly know. I saw them stood on the motorway bridges, in pairs if you noticed. We guessed it was to report people using their mobile phones whilst driving (that's why they needed two 'witnesses'). Some said any resulting charges wouldn't stand, so that couldn't be it.

driving up north yesterday, after passing the Roskilde motorway exist, coming round Copenhagen on the way
to the long bridge, every so often next to the motorway there were what looked like policemen in high visibility vests stood on the grass banks next to the motorway watching the traffic

what were they doing ?
