life balance
Back to the original thread.
You can pay off your mortgage early but would you want to live off only beans and bread ?
No alcohol. No going out. No holidays. No luxuries and wiping your a$$ with old newspapers.
Arguing with your Mrs because you dared to buy a packet of choclate biscuits as a treat for yourself. What kind of life is that?
No thanks. Balance your life. Don't spend too much and don't spend too little. Life is there to be enjoyed !
From what I can remember, there aren't that many on this board who have a mortgage ...

If he tried that whilst I was on the vinegar strokes I would sling the mangy dog back down to bottom of Dantes Inferno.

IMHO too much is made of living a long time. If there is a paradise waiting why not rush ahead, if not, why spend the few allotted years worrying you may not live to 70.
I hope you remember saying this when your 70 and stiffing that blonde nurse in the home....when the Grim reaper comes to get you before you finish!!

Gettin Old
Did anyone see "How to pay your mortgage off in 2 years last night"? Whilst there were some very good tips the most disconcerting scene was when the girl was singing to people at an old folks home. Is that all there is to look forward to? What a reward for staying healthy and living to a grand old age.
That's it, butter, beer and lots of wine for me. If I end up on my own in my old age after the requisite year of mourning I'm going to spend all the money visiting whores in Amsterdam and make sure they bring on the big killer heart attack. Obviously I'll make sure the're amply rewarded for having a fat old baldy man go cold on them.Tags: None
