I used to think: not until you see the blood on the contract.

Then it became: not until you are seated at desk at the clientco.

Now it's: not until the first invoice has been paid and cleared.

Thanks to all for the congrats.

No, will be leaving the sunny midlands for a Kent bedsit for the week and back at the weekends.

Worst rate ever, away from home, but still over the moon to have got a gig? I was getting a tad worried, around 40-50 applications, 1 interview, 3 and a half months benched with a pile of debt mounting up.

Even started applying for permie <hack, spit> roles, was getting that desperate.

I'd start celebrating about 35 minutes after you get on site, and not a moment before.

started a topic Can I celebrate yet...

    Can I celebrate yet...

I have the verbal offer, I have the contract emailed to me which seems to tick the boxes and apparantly the hard copy is in the post. They have asked for copies of VAT certs, etc.

Can I celebrate yet.....and free up a bench space.

Or do I have to wait until I have signed the hard copy/ started on site/ recieved first payment.

Working...
