    It was an odd edition today.

    At one point I could hear this bloke saying that the fact that foreign workers were coming here to do jobs that Brits don't want to do meant that life on benefits was too comfortable for unskilled Brits and the country could not afford it.

    I assumed at first that this was a Tory speaking but it turned out to be Frank Field.

    Here's what may happen.

    McDoom and his advisors have obviously been studying poll graphs of voting intentions, such as the one here, which shows a converging trend between Labour and Tory.

    He'll therefore reason that the best thing is to bottle it (again) until the last moment, when he's like a cornered rat, in the hope and expectation that the polls will converge and even cross.

    However, in the meantime something bad will happen and/or Cameron & Co will come out with all guns blazing in the final month or so, and polls will plummet again for Labour.
