    The diesel engine Tdi is used by Peugeot and Ford and (Fiat?) also use it in their range.

    Suspension is different to a car with coil springs and shock absorbers and most garages will shy away but in reality the serviceability of the suspension is almost as simple as changing an oil filter. Parts are expensive from Citroen dealers but very cheap from GSF parts. I need to change two suspension spheres it cost £40 in parts and it took 20 minutes. If it was conventional suspension the equivalent parts would cost at least £150 from quick fit at take a couple of hours.

    I've had three 3-series beemers (from new) and never had a fault or failure on any of them.

    PS. the 320D has 170bhp and returns about 45MPG even if driven REALLY hard on long journeys.
