At times, they both looked brilliant; at times they also both looked ordinary. Federer at one point had hit 17 winners and made 17 unforced errors. However, when it mattered most, he delivered yet again.Originally posted by oracleslave View PostDisagree, He came up against the greatest of all time playing well. He actually has a chance to beat him if he plays his absolute best which he didn't quite have today.
The head to head record now stands at 7-6 in Murray's favour - although he is yet to win a set in a grand slam final. If Murray can get to a final against anyone other than Federer, he's in with a pretty good chance.
He's appeared in more grand slam finals than any British man in the open era.Originally posted by Bagpuss View PostHas he been in more grand slam finals than Greg Rusedski now?
Federer had won Australian Open once and WImbledon twice by the same age.Originally posted by Bagpuss View PostNever mind he's only young, what had Nadal and Federer won by Andy's age?
Nadal had won four French titles and Wimbledon once by the same age.

Andy's a very good player, but the gap between 3rd in the world and 1st is much bigger than it seems.Originally posted by Bagpuss View PostHas he been in more grand slam finals than Greg Rusedski now? Never mind he's only young, what had Nadal and Federer won by Andy's age?
Best look in the Tim Henman book of excuses
Federer made it look like a Premiership team playing against a Div One team today - you get the occasional upset, but when it matters the result is pretty much foregone.

From what I saw of the third set, they seemed pretty evenly matched, just Murray kept making stupid mistakes when it counted. He broke serve in the third set, and again twice in the tie-break he was 2 points ahead, but lost it every time.Originally posted by oracleslave View PostDisagree, He came up against the greatest of all time playing well.
