If the world population keeps rising, something is sure to be done sooner or later. Otherwise 21st century wars will make the 20th century mayhem look like a picnic in the park.

I read a book recently (sci fi, The Forever War) in which gay relationships were actively encouraged as a means of population control. So much so that 'hetero' was considered weird and socially unacceptableOriginally posted by OwlHoot View PostSo one might imagine the Chinese authorities would take the view that the more (male) gays the merrier, and hand out medals to them for selflessly opting out of competition for marriage.

China's "one child" policy, combined with rural families aborting females and even bumping off infant girls, has meant there are now about 125 men of marriageable age for every woman, which apparently deeply worries the Chinese Government.
