My guess would be the rapidly increasing aging population. By 2030, there will be around 70 million pensioners draining the Social Security and Medicare system. I'm not sure the US can afford to support them as well as continue with the policy of nation building.

Sounds crazy aint it ? If you asked me 7 years ago I would have sworn Microsoft was going to own the world practically..

One of the statements in this documentary is: America to collapse in 20 years if they don't pull out of Afghanistan immediately. Why would that bring doom to the empire ?
