    Agreed. If you give them the excuse to start hunting for a permie now, you might end up training the permie as well.

    Then stay quiet. Chances are they will forget until your 6 months is up, in which case you say "too late to sort out now, let's do another 6 month contract and sort it out at the end of that."

    Keep stringing them along.

    I've got to agree with diver, thats the sort of comment you make when the 6 months are up.

    That way the chances are they won't have a replacement in mind so you'll get another 6 months.

    Just happily accepted a 6 month renewal. However, during the conversation it was mentioned that they would like to make this a permie position at the end of the 6 months.....I told them they couldn't afford me
