Braking inexperience

An ex-police driver friend of mine is interested in a driving job which may include braking. As a police driver of course he normally doesn't brake, but stops his car by running into pedestrians or other vehicles.
Has anyone any experience of 'exaggerating' their experience of braking and how should my friend deal with this during interview?
