I know the agent quite well; I've hired from him a few times before and I know him outside of work; OK, he's still an agent, but he's one of the 'less untrustworthy' types.

TT take ages to get back even when you go direct, often you don't hear anything at all back, so you're lucky!

Never really had feedback like this and got the job, I`d take it negatively. Usually they would give the feedback once [your]interview is all complete.

Yip, usually means you are boderline. They want to keep you hanging on as you are in the possible list. If you were perfect for the job, you'd be offered it there and then. Now this isn't necessary based on your skills and ability it could be a multitude of reasons.
