    Last time I was in a permie job ten years ago I spent quite a bit of time at a customer site in Gateshead.

    In its favour I can say that late at night the industrial estate where we were is a great place to practice handbrake turns in your company car, especially if it has been raining.

    But I can't think of anything else.

    Gateshead is a right orifice, but as Muttley just said there are plenty of nice places in the vicinity.

    Newcastle is pretty damn good for nightlife too.
