Hays did that to me about 6 months ago, I had a contact in the place who a couple of weeks later asked if I wanted to go direct in there. My CV never even got there, Hays were never even asked to provide CVs.

Dirty bar stewards. They just tried to ghost my CV and claimed it went to the client.

However unknown to them I have colleagues on the inside. My sheet never even landed on the table - one week later, nothing - was not among those considered for the post.

Got my details across now through the proper ageny, but wow, some agents right now are stopping at nothing to stay ahead in the game and care nothing for the damage the cause on the way.
