Possibly not. But I know she can fly a Tornado.

For the first time in its illustrious history, the RAF's Red Arrows Diamond Nine display team have admitted a female pilot into their ranks.

Flight Lieutenant Kristy Moore will join the team in September, having been the only female pilot to have completed the requisite 1500 hours flying time, a frontline tour of duty, and pin up status amongst the nation's feminists.

Wing Commander Jason Biggles, Red Arrows Team Leader told us:

"We have every confidence in Flight Lieutenant Moore's ability and welcome her on the team. Of course, she will initially fly at the rear of the formation, should she suddenly brake to send a text message or fix her makeup. And there are one or two allowances we've made, such as having a child seat fitted, a 'baby on board' sticker on the rear of the aircraft and a sat-nav installed. We also had to go to great lengths to assure her that when she landed the aircraft, her parking space would not be nicked by a fat arsed bloke in a white van."

They are based at Scampton near Lincoln, get to see them all the time during the winter months.

The plane had to be specially modified as well, they had to remove the stand-up urinal and put a ladies bog in

I think that deserves a well done. They had to change the display schedule to fit her in. All air shows will finish by 3:30pm so she can pick the kids up from school. Her colleagues will park the aircraft for her and they fitted an extra mirror in the cockpit.

    What took you so long?

Edit: I think she's been with them a while - her name sounds familiar.

Red Arrows get first female pilot

    Linky

One of the few remaining bastions of male dominance fallen. Good job she doesn't have to reverse the thing, she'd never have been accepted. (Joke!)
