    Agents are habitual liars.

See? They cannot even make it plausible.

"I have a role I think you might be suitable for..." is not good enough. It has to be "I've got to build an entire TEAM of people made up of ALL roles paying LOADSA MONEY for a BLUE CHIP client"

Lies, lies, lies. They can't keep to one lie, it has to be a string of big lies.

I stand by my assertion: recruitment agents become habitual liars.

Very, very occasionally (once every few years) I get:

"I saw on your CV / LinkedIn that you have worked for PastClientCo doing PM work on Widget-making projects. I am trying to get into placing people on Widget technology and I wondered if you can help. If you can let me know who did the procurement at PastClientCo or anywhere else that used Widgets, or give me names of Widget specialists, I shall bear you in mind for PM roles at any Widget-using clients that I come across."

I then tell them everything that I think may help them help me, just because of the rare novelty of being told the truth. (Not that anything has ever come of it.)

    A new one on me....

Recruitment / Consultancy on the phone... after they contacted me on LinkedIn

    Loadsa roles.....

    Big pipeline (oo-er)

    I'm just right....

Then on the phone for 20mins going over stuff I've done....

Then homes in on ITSM software I've worked with and wants me to tell him which software for which company.... Remedy XYZ plc & Peregrine ABC Ltd etc etc.... I wasn't quite sure, I have a terrible memory... so I made it up!

Also if I was involved in procurement....(I'm not)

Could someone give me a ref who is currently in procurement for these companies...?

    You can guess the rest....

    I just said...Sorry gotta go....

Working...
