Maybe if we'd colonised mexico instead of India, wherever you now see a curry house there would be a Cantina. Mmm, mole poblano anyone?

    The non-curry curry house choice

tasty, dry, no bright red 'gravy'

and if you go to Lahore in the east end or Hendon - spicy lamb chops oooof.

Mother India in Glasgow is also very, very good

I believe it is common to think that if there is asian people eating in the place then its worth every penny - if its full of rowdy fat lads, think twice.

CostCo used to do a good tikka, but I haven't been ther in years.
The Tesco take away range they tried flogging for £4.99 is now £2.50 in my local, has been for months. M&S is still my favourite followed by Sainsbury's both fine IMO.

They must be doing something better than the restaurants as I’m never ill after a supermarket curry which beats the 50/50 rate I get when I go out for one... I do wash the spoon after I've used it mind.

Last night I went to the local trat and had beef carpaccio followed by pollo cacciatore and tiramisu for dessert, all washed down with a nice barolo. Just a matter of taste I guess but knocks spots off a curry any day IMHO.

The wife and myself have become recent fans of Kebabish Original.
Didn't even realise they were a chain untill just now when I googled the name.

Agreed with some of the other posters, there are many crap indian restaurants out there selling some very generic "currys"

Gandhara in Moscow, (which is actually Pakistani rather than Indian) was the best I ever tasted. Closely followed by a roadside cafe in Fiji.

Unfortunately, neither of them deliver to blighty!

As for UK based, Mrs MM is allergic to quite a few spices so we don't do curry on a night out
